HR 218 / LEOSA Qualification

Course Information

The  HR 218 / LEOSA qualification satisfies the requirements for LEOSA qualified peace officers. Officers must qualify annually with the types of firearms they wish to carry under LEOSA.

Upon  successful completion of the qualification, officers will receive a qualification card stating that they successfully qualified with the types of firearms to be carried. This card will also have the instructor's information and signature. When carrying your firearm, this card must be carried along with your valid agency issued photo identification card that indicates that you are LEOSA qualified.

Information we need prior to conducting the qualification:

  • Your former agency's firearms qualification standard. If they do not have one, we will use a California POST course of fire.

What you'll need for the qualification:

  • Firearm(s)
  • 36 rounds (or number of rounds needed for agency specific course of fire)
  • State issued identification
  • Agency issued identification
