Public Relations (Community & Customer) Course Overview
This 4-hour BSIS Public Relations course is required for all prospective licensed security officers in California.
Aside from the 8-hour Power to Arrest & Appropriate Use of Force course, security officers must complete 16 hours of mandatory training and 16 hours of elective training.
The 4 mandatory classes are:
- Public Relations (Community & Customer)
- Observation & Documentation
- Communication & its Significance
- Liability / Legal Aspects

- Respect
- Stereotyping
- Attitude
- Verbal Skills / Crisis Intervention
- Introduction to Diversity
- Substance Abuse & Mental Illness
