Observation & Documentation Course Overview
This 4-hour BSIS Observation & Documentation course is required for all prospective licensed security officers in California.
Aside from the 8-hour Power to Arrest & Appropriate Use of Force course, security officers must complete 16 hours of mandatory training and 16 hours of elective training.
The 4 mandatory classes are:
- Public Relations (Community & Customer)
- Observation & Documentation
- Communication & its Significance
- Liability / Legal Aspects
The Observation & Documentation course topics include, but are not limited to:
- Report Writing
- English as a Second Language
- Observation and Patrol Techniques
- Asking Appropriate Questions
