Communication & Its Significance Course Overview
This 4-hour BSIS Communication & Its Significance course is required for all prospective licensed security officers in California.
Aside from the 8-hour Power to Arrest & Appropriate Use of Force course, security officers must complete 16 hours of mandatory training and 16 hours of elective training.
The 4 mandatory classes are:
- Public Relations (Community & Customer)
- Observation & Documentation
- Communication & its Significance
- Liability / Legal Aspects
The Communication & Its Significance course topics include, but are not limited to:
- Internal Communication
- Protocols Pursuant to Contract (Who to Contact and When)
- Radios / Monitors
- Other Technology
- External Communication
- Emergency / First Responders
- Medical Personnel
- Police / Sheriff / Other Enforcement
- City Services / Government Services
