This 2-hour Pepper Spray Familiarization course introduces students to the chemical agent, Oleoresin Capsicum, or pepper spray as it is more commonly known.

This course is for individuals who want to familiarize themselves with pepper spray before carrying it for personal protection.

This course does not certify licensed security officers to carry tear gas on duty.

Course topics include, but are not limited to:

• Introduction to pepper spray
• Legal aspects of pepper spray in California
• Safe and effective use of pepper spray
• Effects of pepper spray

To complete this course, students must complete each lesson in the course.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to print a certificate of completion for their records.
